UL Research Institutes – Director of Innovation and Technology spearheads ‘Lab of the Future’ project and immersive XR lab development

There’s a lot happening right now, and I wanted to share a select bit with you. I’m currently working as the Director of Innovation and Technology for UL Research Institutes. In this role, I am responsible for the development and execution of the ‘Lab of the Future’ project, which is focused on leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and extended reality (XR) to transform the way we approach research and innovation. Our goal is to create a state-of-the-art laboratory that serves as a model for the future of scientific inquiry and discovery.

In addition to this, I am working on building a studio and Immersion Lab at the Illinois Science and Technology Park (ISTP) in Skokie, IL. This lab will allow researchers and scientists to conduct experiments and simulations in an immersive environment using XR technology. Our hope is that this lab will accelerate the pace of innovation in various fields by enabling scientists to visualize and understand complex data in new ways. I’m incredibly excited to be working on this project, and I can’t wait to see the impact it will have on the world.
